About our Coffees
We work with small batches of coffees sourced from around the world.
We only select beans that we can trace throughout the entire supply chain, from the farm where they’re grown to the final product enjoyed by consumers.
We focus exclusively on specialty coffee beans. But do you know what “specialty coffee” really means?
Specialty coffee beans are high-quality beans that are grown, processed, and roasted with a strong emphasis on quality:
-
Grading
Specialty coffee beans are rated on a 100-point scale by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). Only beans that score 80 or above qualify as specialty coffee.
-
Production
These beans are cultivated by producers in specific climates and altitudes, with only the ripest, highest-quality beans being harvested.
-
Roasting
Specialty coffee beans are roasted more gently and carefully than regular coffee beans.
-
Cost
Specialty coffee tends to be pricier than regular coffee due to the time, effort, and care required in its production.
-
Origin
Specialty coffee beans come from various regions worldwide, including Brazil, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Colombia, Rwanda, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, Malawi, India, China, and Bolivia.
-
Flavor
The unique flavor of coffee is influenced by its growing conditions, such as climate, altitude, and soil. For instance, beans from higher altitudes often exhibit more acidity and sweetness, while those from volcanic soils tend to have a brighter, clearer taste.
