SAMORO

Timor-Leste – Where Sweet Meets Sassy

Meet your new favorite cup: a beautifully crafted coffee from Timor-Leste that hits that perfect sweet spot, literally. It’s got sweetness and lively acidity living together in perfect harmony, like two best friends who somehow never argue.

This is a fully washed Typica & Timor Hybrid, and folks – the processing here is chef’s kiss. You can taste the care in every sip. Vibrant. Refined. The kind of cup that makes you go “ooh” out loud and then look around to see if anyone heard you.

It’s elegant without being fancy-pants. Bright without being a punch in the face. Honestly? It’s the coffee equivalent of that effortlessly cool friend who makes everything look easy.

So pour yourself a mug, take a moment, and let this little island gem win you over.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Name: Orlando Soares

Location: Letefoho, Ermera, Timor-Leste

2023 marked the second year of our collaboration with Orlando Soares and the dedicated farmers of the Samoro group. Their motivation this season was unmistakable, driven by the excitement of seeing their hard work from the previous harvest embraced by the specialty coffee community.

The Samoro group is more than just a collection of farmers—they are neighbours and friends, bound by a shared vision of excellence. They support one another during the harvest, working side by side to ensure their coffee is processed with unwavering consistency. It’s this spirit of collaboration that sets them apart, and we’re proud to provide each member with the resources they need to continue refining their craft and producing exceptional coffee.

As a satellite group of Cristo Liurai, the Samoro farmers have also been guided by the wisdom of Luis Santos de Jesus, the lead farmer at Cristo Liurai. Luis’s mentorship has been pivotal in helping Orlando and his group establish precise record-keeping practices. By tracking fermentation and drying times closely, the group is learning to adapt their methods to meet the challenges of climate change, ensuring the highest quality in every harvest.
